Veterans Plan
This is a great plan for anyone who has benefits through VA, Tri-Care, or ChampVA. The veteran is also enrolled In Part A and Part B, which show up on their Medicare Health Insurance card, also known as the Red-White-Blue Card. The Veteran does not lose any of their VA Benefits. The Veteran will continue to use their same VA physician and have prescriptions filled at the VA as this plan does not have a prescription plan.
Another benefit to having this plan is that the Veteran can choose to see a community physician which has been pre approved by VA at no cost The Veteran may also choose to see a physician of their choice if there is a co-pay the physician office will file for the co-pay.
Any medication prescribed by the community physician will be sent to the VA for approval and filled.
The advantage to enrolling in a Veteran Plan, the veteran will receive money sometimes called “give back” which is applied toward the amount of Part B premium that the Veteran was paying. This now offsets the amount that the Veteran is required to pay which increases the Veterans monthly Social Security Check.
Example:
$1,800 Monthly Check – Plan B $174.40 = $1625.30 monthly check to Vet.
Veteran chooses a plan that offers $140.00 give back reducing Part B to $34.70.
$1,800 Monthly Check – new Plan B Cost $34.70 = $1765.30 monthly check to Vet.
There are also many other benefits that are included based on the company that they choose to enroll with. It does not affect their ongoing benefits with VA, Tri-Care, or ChampVA
